From Shepherd's Glen to the foggy streets of Silent Hill, Alex will face the darkest of horrors while struggling with his own grip on reality. Your mileage may vary.In Silent Hill Homecoming, Alex Shepherd has returned to his hometown of Shepherd's Glen to investigate the sudden disappearance of his brother. There is certainly valid criticism about the game, but the atmosphere/environment and monster design in this game are absolutely top-tier.Įdit: I'm not denying anyone's audio issues, but I, personally, had zero problems with the sound in this game. Is it as good as a Team Silent production? No. Even one crash is annoying, but the new Resident Evil 4 probably crashed more for me than this did. I still had a few crashes here and there, so save often, but if you are curious at all about forming your own opinion on the game, then 1.99 is absolutely worth it. I won't link to the one I used (I don't know if that's allowed) but you can web search "Unknownproject Homecoming" for it.

#SILENT HILL HOMECOMING PATCH#
You will need a community patch to fix it. That said, this port absolutely has issues. It was the fist game I ever 100%'d on Xbox. Unpopular (perhaps the most unpopular) opinion on here, but I actually love this game. In fact the best part of the game is the soundtrack. Despite all of that, I cant find a single thing positive to say about Homecoming other than some of the monster designs are cool and that Akria Yamaoka still worked his magic for the soundtrack. To call me a fan of Silent Hill would be an understatement, I’ve even considered a halo of the sun tattoo. The soundtracks alone are some of my most listened to albums of all time and I’m not really one to listen to video game ost’s.

Still to this day nearly twenty years later and no games have managed to capture that disgusting yet beautiful feeling those games invoke. I’ve been downvoted for voicing these opinions in this sub before, so please remember, this is my opinion.Įdit: Also wanted to add that Silent Hill 2 and 3 are my favorite games of all time.

Honestly the only game after 4 that I feel is truly worth playing is Shattered Memories but that’s just me. I keep having to remember that people born in the early 2000s are basically adults now.Īnyways, almost everyone I know who loved the original four did not enjoy Homecoming. There are still a lot of people in this sub who love the game, which I assume is because it was one of their first Silent Hill games.
#SILENT HILL HOMECOMING MOVIE#
It felt more like a game based on the movie than a continuation of the series I loved so much. The moment an iconic Silent Hill 2 monster would appear I couldn’t help but roll my eyes. I’ve since gone and watched a long play of the game and that made me hate the game even more. You couldn’t pay me to play thru the game, even if it did run flawlessly. I always give up in the sewers and it was one of the biggest video game disappointments of my life.

A next gen Silent Hill game had me incredibly excited and was one of the main games that made me beg my parents for a PS3. As someone who grew up playing Silent Hill 2 - 4 when they came out (was too young to play the first one, and arguably too young to play the others when I did but I loved them so it doesn’t matter), I followed the development of Homecoming like a hawk.
